Editor and Contributing Author for The Foundations of Naturopathic Medicine textbook; History of Vitalism, The Biology of Consciousness, Student Perspectives on The Vis Medicatrix Naturae, and The State of Contemporary Balneology in Europe, The Balkans and the Near East. And, of course, avid thermal spring soaker.
VICE PRESIDENT, Prof. Jonathan Paul De Vierville, PHD, MSSW (University of Texas, Austin) wrote “A History of American Spas and Healing Waters.” Professor Emeritus of The Humanities, Alamo Colleges, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor/Jungian Psychotherapist. Speaker at World Congresses on Health Resort and Spa Therapies, International Society of Medical Hydrology and Climatology, Global Wellness Summit, International Spa Association, International Association for the Study of Dreams. BOARD CHAIR, Chris Devlin FNP, EdS, is a family nurse practitioner who has worked in the Alaska Tribal Healthcare system for over 25 years, including serving for 10 years as Executive Director for Eastern Aleutian Tribes. A long time hot springs enthusiast, he is a founding member of Alameda’s Cooperative Hot Spring Retreat and Guesthouse, a 55 and older residential cooperative based on sustainability, healing, education and prosperity.
BOARD DIRECTOR, David Erlich, A 20 year veteran of the hospitality industry, Mr. Erlich is passionate about health and wellness issues. Before landing at Glenwood Hot Springs, Mr. Erlich was the executive director of spa and recreation services at the Caribbean luxury beach resort Viceroy Anguilla. He served as regional director of spa operations for Fairmont Hotels for the western U.S. and Hawaii, and as the executive director of spa and retail operations for Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn and Spa, a geothermal spring spa in Sonoma, Calif. Mr. Erlich also spent time overseeing spa and retail operations as executive director for Spa Grande at the Grand Wailea in Maui, Hawaii. From 2000 to 2009, he served as a board member of the International Spa Association, and, is an avid triathlete, adventure racer and surfer.
SECRETARY, Michele Solloway, PhD, MPA, RPP is a Senior Research Scientist at the Child and Adolescent Health Measurement Initiative at the Johns Hopkins University. Her work focuses improving health care for vulnerable families, childhood trauma, and integrative medicine. Solloway has a Bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology from UC Berkeley, a Masters of Public Administration from San Francisco State University, and a PhD in City & Regional Planning from UC Berkeley. She is certified as an advanced energy and polarity therapist with training in cranial sacral and trauma healing therapies.
