BANA Hotsprings Database Initiative

The Balneology Association of North America (BANA) seeks to bring together thermal strawberry-park-hot-springsmineral spring owners, operators and enthusiasts to promote wellness, health, rehabilitation and stewardship of our Earth’s waters.

However, we have some basic questions:

  • Where are all the hot springs in North America?
  • Who owns them?
  • What challenges do these sites face?

To answer these questions, we are developing a spatial database of hot spring sites across the continent. This database will help us make an interactive web map to make information about hot springs available to the public.

We have created this brief survey to collect information about your sites.

Completing this survey will help us:

  • To create a webmap that will help users navigate and discover thermal mineral springs–getting people in your waters.
  • To create a comprehensive resource on thermal springs, which will help BANA to protect and promote thermal mineral springs across North America and better understand the needs of our community.

The answers you provide will be contribute to a resource that will benefit people throughout the field. By better understanding who we are and where we fit in to the larger landscape, we can ensure that we are optimizing our sites and proving the best in health and wellness for the people of North America and the world. BANA is committed to the success thermal mineral springs.

With your help, we can revitalize the practice of Balneology and achieve our goal for North America of “Health in Earth’s Mineral Waters!”
